As a visual artist, Winfield Bevins describes his work as “modern iconography,” reimagining ancient sacred imagery through vibrant contemporary color and form. His paintings invite viewers to encounter enduring truths in fresh and meaningful ways. He believes that each generation needs new visual expressions of timeless truths—expressions that remain rooted in tradition while speaking to contemporary audiences. Drawing inspiration from the rich heritage of Christian art, he creates works that bridge past and present, renewing and deepening faith for today. Through his art, he seeks to create spaces for contemplation, prayer, and wonder, inviting viewers to slow down and encounter God, who is “ever ancient, ever new.”

Winfield’s sacred art is featured in churches across the United States. Two of his most recent commissioned works can be seen in the All Saints Prayer Chapel in Los Angeles, CA and a Stations of the Cross in Atlanta, GA.
